I recently inherited a 1954 telecaster, never used. Bought as an investment, stayed in case stored in proper conditions for the years. Still has the orginal strings on it and an extra pack in the case.


I am curious to know if anyone knows more than I do about this. I know what worn out ones go for, but I am not sure how much of a difference it makes that the guitar has never been used.


If anyone can share anything with me it would be much appreciated.

12,000-15,000 is usually the range I see them in.

$8000-$12000, yours is worth much more than most if in excellent condition. tho worth more money, no instrument sounds better when left untouched for years. they should be played at least once a month.

I don't care much for collectors items, but it's worth a nice piece.

Just google : Telecaster, they all look the same..... his is just a very old one..

Jesus Christ, 10-12K I'd think. Worth more than a car. Sell that thing. Vintage guitars are cool and all, but worth playing and losing a ton of money? Hell no.

you dont lose money when something keeps appreciating in value...
