Download a program called Power Tab Editor, then go to Ultimate-guitar.com and look for any songs you like and find the bass tabs for it (They have to be in .PTB format ONLY, keep that in mind). Just download the tabs and open them with Power Tab Editor and try to play. Thats how I've been learning and I think I've been making some good progress.

Don't be infront of a computer, lol : go work your ass off in a jam room!

Lol, well. GP5 (guitar pro 5) can be downloaded free for a tryout, then Ultimate-guitar.com is your source to find songs.

Everyone says ultimate-guitar.com -_-

I saw 911tabs.com because it links you to more sites than just that one. Yes there are tabs UG doesn't have.

In a jam room? Lol. I'd like to know what to do, not just fuck around on a guitar.

I'll be teaching myself (I might get someone to show me some basics later on, but everyone I know isn't near here atm)

Thanks will check out tabs.

Vouch, make sure any time you get in a mood to play go and do it right away because its those times that you get the most out of your playing.

I don't think I'm going to get very far just "jamming" when I know no songs or how to play a bass. It would just me sitting there going PEWWW ZOOOOOOOOM with my hand.
