there ok and sound nice BUT my drum kit is 5 years old and ive never changed the bottom heads of the drums (tuned them ofc though xD)
so there yamaha's own skins

should i have a set of decent skins on the bottom of my toms and snare?

also, any you would recommend?

It can't hurt to use better reso heads than the stock ones. You can replace your reso heads with your old batter heads when you replace your batter heads. I did it before recording about a year and a half ago and it worked fine.

Put some Remo Emperors on the batter side. Evan's Glass G2's on the bottom.

For the snare, Remo Emperor X on the batter. Depending on your taste like if you like a dry crack or a fat punchy snare, choose a thicker or thinner reso head. Tension wires help too, 20 thread is standard.

Best I tryed are Evans EC2 actually, but of course it's all about the sound you like, and the sound you are looking for. But I recommand these, for rock (and metal) playing.
