Sorry, had to share it... probably 2 weeks till they arive from USA...

may aswell make it a valid topic, lets talk about these great pedals - compare them to other pedals you've tried if you want, I heard the springs can get so tight its actually quite hard to make a kick, but for a direct drive pedal they actually feel the more like a chain drive than any other direct drive pedal...

if your an axis fan, you probably think axis is the originator of "longboards" and the "direct drive" but there were actually pedals like this MANY years ago, even slingerland made one... tama aswell...

I hope they play as good at they look...

Here's what I did with my current pedals, DW 9000... I hate them to be honest, great for all styles but crap for going fast...

i use the dw5000s, they're pretty nice but also aren't great for speed playing... i usually don't play speed though so it's perfect for me. i've heard nothing but good things about the longboards though. i'd love to hear what you think of them after they arrive... by the way, what are you doing with your 9000s? plan on selling them?

imo these long boards are so epic because they have no patterns or shit engraved on the board so you can play with just socks on or bare feet and it doesnt hurt after a while so good

sold for £320 on eebay, i got lucky.. its their 3rd listing...
first 2 times was a £340 start, no bids...

this time was 99p start no reserve, i got a massive 50 watchers... the winning bidder was a non payer from israel but thank god for the second chance offer or my axis wouldn't be on their way to my house right now...

I heard the 5000's, being a standard cam are just as good for going fast as pearl eliminators etc... so 5000's are pretty amazing for faster speeds

here's a basic comparison of the technique required for the axis and a normal chain drive like the 5000 or eliminator's...

for the 5000 and eliminators you need to develop an ankle based technique most commonly refered to as the basketball effect

with the axis, which ive still never tried... it enables you to play in the exact same technique you might use on a floor without a pedal aparently. this for me is really needed as I have gotten over 260bpm in SINGLE STROKES just on the floor in my shoes, but have never gotten solidly over 220 on a chain drive pedal... granted i have achieved over 260bpm on a chain drive... but it was more random luck than anything else...

here's some random info... the 5000 and 9000 are the EXACT same pedal apart from the cam, there is no differences at all... made in the same factory, on the same machine... which makes 9000's a complete and total rip off for the money
