I've been playing guitar for about a year, and I was hoping someone had a good suggestion for a song or a couple exercises that could help me out with playing bass lines with my thumb. I can do basic ones that either follow the

same type of pattern that the rest of the fingers play, or ones that are constant, steady bass lines, but if any one could find a simple song or something that had a bass line totally separated (playing wise) from the main melody

that I could practice, I would really appreciate it.

Thanks in advance :)

Already doing that, and its just a matter of actually finding the right note on the guitar for me... my ear is pretty well attuned from years of singing.

I would really appreciate something with both a bass line and a melody. Thanks.

Eh. using your thumb for bass lines isn't really a technique that should be a priority

Regardless, it can be fun and entertaining to learn new things, and it's never too early to add skills to your repertoire.
