It really depends what song you're playing, but for the most part just play what you think sounds okay. If you really insist on sliding, you can -- strum 0, and then lightly press on the first or second fret and as you slide up to 8 make sure you press harder and harder (won't sound like a perfect slide..but w/e).

If its really just 2 notes, don't bother with it, just play 0 and then 8 or 0 and play like 4 and slide to 8.

do as he said and slide from 4 or so. It wont really make much of a difference since you will be sliding quickly.

Doesn't 0 mean open string? Meaning you can just slide from anywhere you please up to 8? o.O

I don't see what's so hard about that... unless your hand is near the head of the guitar's neck playing something up there before you have to play 8.

If that's the case, then it's just a matter of knowing the exact, soonest moment of time you can move your hand up to the 8 without losing notes beforehand.

If when you listen to the song and you just hear the 0 and 8, and you have a hard time doing that slide, just do an hammer-on on that 8th bitch.
If it's a slow tempo. song, I don't really see how is a 0/8 is hard imo.
