I am not a big fan of jazz but I heard it was good in helping to play better guitar. So I decided to look up some chord progressions.

They say this is a popular one. Sounds jazzy(surprise surprise)

Jazz
Imaj7 VIm7 | IIm7 V7 | IIIm7 VI7 | IIm7 V7
Cmaj7 Am7 | Dm7 G7 | Em7 A7 | Dm7 G7

Post some of your favorite chord progressions in any musical style in the format I have above.

The first in whatever key you're playing. If you're in C, the I chord would be CMaj. V would be Gmaj, and so on. Roman numerals.

Yeah, it's the root, but there's no roman numeral for root. There is a roman numeral for 1, since it's a number.

i like this one in 4/4: A/A/D/D/G/G/C/B :l over and over until your solo makes sense.

or

i i iv iv vii vii iii ii

this is the B part to caravan the duke ellington song, but can be used for many types of music. A part is just: E/E/E/E/E/E/Am/Am :l

i actually play the last measure like: b/b/b/(rest/percussive )

believe it or not this is an awesome progression: (in cut time)

E F G A B C D repeat

then add a bpart where you throw something funky coming back down: E Eb C B A G F E -try to play a lead that actually makes sense over A and B (not just ripping scales) i have had alot of fun with this simple progression on banjo.
