No really? You suggest using a electric guitar amp for a electric guitar..... are you sure? If I had any $ I would buy a new amp, but since I'm in college money is tight. Any suggestions on how to get better sound from the amp?

Eh.

I'd reckon you could try setting all settings in the amp to zero with the exception of volume (of course) and equalizer (which you could fool around at will until you find an optimal sound). Pretty sure it won't damage the amp or your guitar, but since I've never tried it, don't really take my word for it - though it wouldn't hurt to try.

If you're serious about guitar, then sell that amp for whatever money you can get and buy a guitar amp with it. If that doesn't work out, I'm not sure how to help... other than put Treble at MAX, Mid at 3/4 and Bass 1/5, maybe it might make your guitar sound a little better.

Btw, if you don't have ANY means of getting a guitar amp right now, just don't practice with one. Just because you have an electric guitar doesn't necessarily mean you need the amp. I played for the longest time on my electric with out an amp ( of course I agree it sounded like shit), and all that matters was that I got practice.
