Ok so im sick of my Line 6 Spider II. 125 wat iirc .. i forget.

It was cool at first but it sounds soulless and bland now. Its Distortion annoys the fucks out of me now for some reason and isnt very clear even on low setting.

Whats a good upgrade to get that's versatile for death metal , jazz or w/e and in the 600-1000$ price range.

Want something that screams and blows the Line 6 amp out of the water.

Im looking at a

B-52 LS-100 100W and B-52 AT-412 480W 4x12 Mono/Stereo Guitar Cabinet right now.

Any input?

You can find Marshall 1960 Av Cabs for around $200-400 bucks used, loaded with v30's. You can also get avatar cabs for around 400 brand new.

As far as heads go:

5150 (6505, 6505+, 5150 II etc) go for 600-800 used
Marshall DSL100 (Dont let the marshall name fool you cause These have been used on plenty of Death Metal albums)
Bugera (Behringers peavy knock of tube heads)

All I can suggest is go Tube or go Randall.

[QUOTE=magikod,Sun, Mar 15 2009, 03:03pm]Marshall makes the best amps.

dont know what all the fuss is about marshall amps. i think they sound like shit.

i like crate tube amps, mesa boogie (if you got the money) or even fender tube amp. imo sounds much better than marshall whether clean or distorted.

are you gigging? There is a 6505 1x12 combo coming out soon which im guessing will be less than the 2x12 so probably in the 6-800 range. If you are looking for more, the 5150/6505 combos are basically metal industry standard

I'd look at the b-52 at-100 head and the matching cab.
you can get them used for like 600 or new for 900.
They're great..
