I've been playing violin for about...11 years now and the whole classical music thing continues to bore me.
I started playing Jazzz stuff...n thats hot

After listening to paul dateh (youtube the name if you dont know him)
i have been in search for Hip Hop music sheets for AGES...

someone told me i could go to some music thing at a university and they can convert the music into notes of melody onto a sheet....if that makes sense

NEED HELP!!!!?!?!

I have always listened and loved hip hop, RnB etc etc..

and i would appreciate it if yout guys could tell me where i could get it off the net or something..

how long does it take to get "moderately good" at violin?? I wanna learn >.<

depending on your level of commitment. But it does take a long time. I would say around 5 years at least.

Honestly, this just means you're impatient. You play music not to be good, but simply to enjoy it -- if you want to learn, why not just learn? Yes it takes a long time to get very good, but if you practice and just enjoy whatever you're playing, those years would go by in a snap.

On topic: If you've been playing for 11 years, you should be able to play some by ear (if not, start practicing it, it really is important). In any case, if it doesn't work out, why not just pick up the scale that guys playing in and screw around with it. Just get an instrumental hip hop song online and mess around, pretty soon you'll be making your on hip hop music.

EDIT: pretty amazing video btw, violinist and dj are both really freakin good.

hip hop music is the easiest thing to play on violin. Bastardizing the instrument imo but its whatever do what u love, u know? why dont u just arrange ur own versions with a writing program like noteworthy, its free.

Free programs tend to stand lacking, he's best off (at a cheap rate) cutting up samples and editing them to make them his own. Just don't straight up put samples in your work, that's for unskilled amateurs.
