Lots of poly rhythms, weird time signatures, an excess of strings, melodic (at times), downtuned groove metulz.

i'm not really into the genre, but bulb and his work in periphery and animals as leaders is super sick.

I agree, this shit is pretty cool, but I wish there was more to this genre. I can enjoy this music thoroughly for about ten minutes before I crave something more.

There are a couple of songs from Pantera's The Great Southern Trendkill that almost delve into this genre. At almost 13 years old, I feel like this album was way before its time.

lol well you might want to check out bands under the nuclear blast record label, i know some of those bands play for them i think.. mabey you will find what you are looking for

oooooooooo good point! Nuclear Blast is awesome. Spineshank may or may not have some of these band genres too.
Also, perhaps you'll like Nuclear Assault, Burzum or Biohazard. Fairly interesting bands

You guys aren't really getting what I'm asking. I can finds on nuclear blast no problem. I'm looking for bands that have a specific sound.

Sumerian Records has a few bands like this but I'm not really a fan of any of them.
