me and some other people i know have been fucking around with gp5 for awhile, and i'm just wondering if there is a way to make decent-good music using just a computer

if you could tell me the software, pirating is not a problem (lulz)

all my mates who love dnb use reason.. seems to be the best, and concidering how it works it will give you a very good insight on how to do it all if/when you get in a real studio and your doing everything with real rack units..

Renoise is a fantastic program too.

already know about FL studio and reason,

looking for more garage band type stuff, my friend recommended finale and garage band but i still have to try them both out. i'm also looking to make rock-type stuff (with guitars etc etc)

you need one of these three: acid pro, cakewalk or protools. dont waste your time with garageband or fruitloops. these three programs make others look like child's play.

Well you need an actual guitar and guitar skills to make a good guitar/rock song.

You were asking to make "decent music with just a computer".

I stick by my original post unless you were intending to record an actual band, with actual instruments..

And then I would say Cubase, Sonar, or Protools.

fruity loops is actually nice once you learn how to use it, my roommate is sick with it
