Hey guys, I've been playing the guitar for 3 years now (self taught), 3 years for acoustic and a year on electric.

I've always wanted to play the piano, but because of the high fee's I didn't start when I was young. I'm 19 now (old I know) but I have a passion for music, I don't unfortunately own a piano (I live in a rented house near Uni 5 days a week) but I do have a keyboard. I was wondering what are the best ways to get started (i know its vague but I know very little about piano/keyboard) with the keyboard and how much Piano's generally are. I know starting with a keyboard is not good at all, since I can't use the 3 pedals and such. Any tips will be appreciated on how I should start.

Thanks guys.

You can afford 20$ for 30 minutes now. Piano technique = vital because you may get hurt, tendonitis, CT, etc. Get a student teacher or a properly certified teacher to teach you technique. Once you've memorized every piano key (easy since all octaves) and are playing properly, start learning basic classical music on your own. for more difficult pieces, consult a teacher only for single questions.

Its usually a lot more than that over in England, but I should be able to get myself a teacher somehow since the beginning is quite important. Thanks for the tips smile.gif

Just learn some scales and chords then find someone to jam with.
