unless your willing to put down some money on it i would suggest cool edit pro (also known as adobe audition or something like that)

its very simple and to the point, much easier than cubase le. just dig through google a bit and you should find an already registered version for free.

reaper also comes complete with a virus from the official website, you will be better off with audacity, or cubase LE

Nuendo and Cubase use the exact same audio engine. Nuendo is geared towards post-production(hence why it costs $2,000), while Cubase is exactly enough for anyone looking to do solely audio work.

If you don't like those, I would look into Sonar 8.

What don't you like about Cubase? Its interface is incredibly easy to use.

where the hell are you downloading from, ive been using it for over a year and have had no problems, as well as 95% of the population on UG that use free software use reaper.

depends on what you wanna use, i had a computer set up to begin with then i moved to a recording deck that did it all in one so i didnt need software anymore. beware decks cost alot and there something you dont want to go cheap on. ( you get what you pay for)
