I don't when I play guitar, but I know people like John Densmore from the Doors who has ear problem's from sounds being too loud when the Door's performed back in the day.

I only did 1 "gig" and I did wear ear protection. I think it's pretty much a need if you're the one playing, it helps on keeping focus too.

On concerts though, that's another thing, I never wore any.

Just do as you feel, if you think it's better to wear some, do it.

i havent worn ear protection when playing shows. I only wear them when i play drums. when i play guitar i usually dont because it isnt as ear shattering as drums can be.

for concerts, not just small shows, its generally a smart idea to wear them. show in small rooms its generally smart to wear them. but if its a not a super loud show in a super small place, you can easily get away with just some ringing in your ears.

Yeah but ringing = tinnitus = ear loss

I don't wear ear protection when going to shows/ concerts.

I do however use ear protection when I'm jamming with people.

Custom made.
