Anyone here have any tips?

One Overdrive/Hi gain effect sounds weak, but when I stack two, it gets way too messy for playing 5 chords (Root, 5th.)

Thanks.

I don't know anything about synth patches, but in general some effects to fatten a guitar tone would be EQ, overdrive and distortion, compression/sustainer, and perhaps even a low chorus.

Ideally, if your effects processor has amp models, then that's your best bet.

I use two distortions at once when I'm trying to go for that effect. I use just a regular distortion pedal and an overdrive pedal at the same time. Turn the distortion one down and the overdrive up. You might want to add some chorus or sumthing after that if you really want to. Its the best sound that I've come up with for stuff like that.
