It's a Grade 7 / 8 one in about a month, I've never done it before but the school has all the equipment and I'll figure it will be fun hah.

Seriously man, just listen to some pop-radio stations. For slow dances, add some Lifehouse and stuff like that. Anything else, offer to take requests, but make SURE you sample the requests before playing them.

Yeah I'm bring my own computer for that, Just gonna listen to them on youtube first though before I will buy the song into my library.

a school dance? that seems like it's going to be a lot less fun than it sounds. the types of songs you can play are limited greatly and will probably be really boring. i actually can't think of some kind of event where dj'ing would actually be fun.

I'm just doing it for some fun, mainly to see if I can lead a crowd or not.
