i'm a huge fan of neil young, and i'm in the process of modding my fender mim tele, and i was wondering if there are pups that would give me as close to his sound as i can, as well as pedals or something. i know that he uses crazy reverb setups and has a few completely custom "whizzers" but i, not suprisingly, can't afford/get them, as he is the only one with them. any help would be appreciated, although i know that no one really frequents this part of the forum hah.

But sorry, I can't really help with your question. I know nothing about Neil Young. I can say that a good amount of one's tone comes from the way they play, so it's usually best not to emulate someone else's tone, but to discover your own.

shit guitar + good amp = good sound

We first need to know what amp you have.

i have a crate flexwave head and i have the flexwave cab too with celestions in it and a slew of pedals. i found a pedal designed to give me as close to neil's signature fuzzy grunge as possible, and i just need new pickups anyway, the mim stocks on my tele are pretty good for being 15 years old, but it's time for an upgrade
