Kinda vague, but eh. If I were looking for a new bass for ~900 bucks, I'd definitely check out as far as off-the-wall basses would be a schecter stiletto (studio ofc). Also tough to go wrong with a fender jazz, you should be able to find one in that range. And if you don't mind going used, you can get [just about] anythin.

I played a bunch of fender jazz basses and ended buying the Fender deluxe active jazz bass (was 700 at the time) it is now like 500-600 and I love it..I tried several other fenders out even ones up to 2k$ but really liked the deluxe active
