Just practice over and over again and it will come to you. It's all about muscle memory.

If it helps, put a small, thin piece of tape where your first finger would be in 4th 5th and 6th positions, and practice that way. As you begin to get more comfortable, start removing them.

Yea i know, i mostly just made this post out of frustration. Wasnt really expecting any miracle answer. Im playing Kreutzer excercise 10 (etude) on viola for an audition tomorrow and im most definetly not at the level for this piece. This is ridiculously hard compared to what was required last year for this audition.

how unfortunate happy.gif

I never got into very competitive pieces on my violin before I gave it up for guitar, but the viola is a beautiful instrument. I've always wanted to try a cello, but Guitar Center never seems to have them laugh.gif Good luck!

mine goes anywhere from 2 down to 2 up. it also has a chorus feature with varying intervals, a drop tuning feature (one step down), and a dive bomb feature that simulates string rattle when using a floating bridge.
