i don't know what the send and return is for.

there's a control in boss ns-2 called threshold. don't know what that does.

and also, what are the adaptor wires for ( Boss psa adaptor ),

Send Return is for your amplifiers effects loop. If you have one you can also have the NS2 go through it as well as your main signal path. The thresh hold is how fast the NS cuts the signal. You should have it high enough to cut the noise but not so high so that it cuts your guitar.
