a luthier is someone who repairs, improves or builds instruments.
i was at the bar of all places to run into such an amazing opportunity, when an aquaintance approached me and gave me his business card. we know each other from playing in local bands around lawrence KS for some time, mainly old time/bluegrass and rock type stuff. he has been a luthier of mainly violins for 6+ years and recently opened a new shop here in town. he needs someone who knows this town for deliveries, good with their hands, quick learner, loves playing multiple intruments, is good with customers (i know hundreds of musicians in lawrence, yes hundreds) and is trustworthy. it is very flattering that he chose me. maybe i can finally leave my boring tech support job for something i would love to make a career out of.
