Eh...Fruityloops + a ton of samples? Never tried, but it seems to have the capability.

Never tried Acid Studio 7, so I can't pass judgement. Samples can be from absolutely anywhere. Hell, if you have an mp3 editor, you can just gank a sample from any song you have on the hard drive. There are a zillion sites with soundboards/clips, just search around a bit. Before long you'll need an external to house them all.

acid is good...

you will need a lot of money though for techno..you need a few things

-a good high ram computer for multi track recording
- a midi keyboard that hooks up to your computer directly
-a good software what can speed up tempo and stuff with distorting the music

i recommend this:http://www.guitarcenter.com/Line-6-TonePort-KB37-Audio-Interface-and-MIDI-Controller-104010707-i1168574.gc

its all you will ever need, and you can hook up all types of instruments to your comp, it has a built in amp processor for guitar and bass(great sound i use it for all my recordings), plus a nice mic pre amp so you can do anything

Fruityloops

Along with Fruity Loops, I'd recommend ReBirth by Propellerhead Software. It's a virtual 808, 909, and 303, wrapped up in one interface.

If you like ReBirth, afterwards, check out Reason, by the same folks. Kicks it up to a whole new level.
