Gently placing to the side that roughly 40% of uploaded music videos are created by AI, this Danny Sapko glimpse at a rising star definitely shines a sobering light on the topic.

You can probably skip most of Danny's vid and head straight to 7m30s. Here, he shows us where he found the AI track that Masoma Daniels (aka BB Queen or Mmesoma, the viral guitarist who's captivated millions with her stunning blues performances) may have pilfered for her deception. Now, Masoma is a real person who is miming the guitar playing of AI Slow Blues tracks. She really can play guitar. But, Masoma chooses to exploit AI for greatly expanding her subscribers and for helping her sell the fake recordings online.

Of course, she is not the only one. There are now millions if not hundreds of millions of songs being sold in almost all genres that are AI generated. One reporter mentioned that out of a panel of music professionals, only 3% could tell if the newer AI generated music tracks are AI. Sheesh. Real artists are being literally pushed out/outcompeted.

Where does that leave you? I am thinking... Play for the love of playing. Play for making your friends enjoy their time with you and/or with your band. Learning to play an instrument and/or playing music live is good for the soul, helps in developing many life skills, and much, much more. Worrying about AI is a lost cause as AI has already won. What you as a creative artist or working artist can do is to enjoy the journey while being careful about where your income will come from, e.g., a second job, etc...

:( A gentle note: Masoma has fooled a number of great artist who commented on her vids

Good luck music artists! The journey is the best part!
