Washburn X-10

    * Basswood body
    * Bolt on maple neck
    * Rosewood fingerboard with dot inlay
    * 24 frets
    * 25.5" scale
    * Fulcrum vibrato bridge
    * Gloss finish
    * 5-way blade switch
    * Washburn HSS pickups
    * Die cast tuners

I gave Washburns a try recently, and the American-made Washburns are absolutely amazing. James Malone's signature V looks weird, but it plays and sounds great, as does the WI series. Mike Schleibaum of Darkest Hour has been playing a Washburn N4 with a clean finish rather than the worn body look, it's a beautiful guitar and it sounds great live and on record. The Buzz Feiten tuning system on all of the American Washburns really impressed me, the guitars really sound flawless. Unfortunately they're also out of my price range right now, but I went years without really trying Washburn largely due to playing in a band with a guy who made one sound terrible (for one show, nonetheless!)

Sam Ash carries several high end models in their stores, at least around here.

i'm not a fan of paistes really.

i went and picked up my guitar from the place that was supposed to set it up for me early, i couldn't deal with my fucked up tele any longer. i'll just have to get used to the very minor buzzing i guess. oh well. i need a nice tube combo, lugging a 150lb half stack is getting old.
