Looking at that post, I realize you're a hopeless case. Just another music student who likes to repeat what his snobby music teachers liked to joke about for artistic credit. While these guitarists are enjoying unlimited means to perform and develop their music, you'll never be more than a high school teacher at best.
That's funny because I've never had a snobby teacher in private lessons, theory or history...and considering I can appreciate almost all musically valid things...your point doesn't hold much water. I don't even consider myself a jazz guitarist, I'm much more from a rock/blues background, and my roots will always be there.
