still, a guitar sounds similar whatever u do with it, a guitar is a guitar.. imo overused instrument
luckily its rare in dance music, cos i've gotten bored of the constant guitars that are in every rock/metal song out
watever floats ur boat really, but a dj is an artist (other then the school disco dj's who simply play songs 1 by 1)

Guitarists doesn't always make a guitar sound similar. Just listen to Tom Morello's solos (yes, I know, it's always about him).
and if you couldn't care less about Tom Morello, there's Omar Rodriguez from Mars Volta + solo project and there's an entire subculture from Montreal. Out of the wake of Godspeed You! Black Emperor, we talk bands like: A Silver Mt Zion, Hrsta, Set Fire To Flames, Hangedupp etc etc. ppl who insist on using "rock instruments" differently.

actually i was verballing bob(cs2), we had some history back at d2 (to sum it up, he tried scam my friend, i kicked his ass with all me chars, and he whined)
but all im saying is.. the guitar isnt the pen ultimate instrument, its limited in use and overused. However i do like a sexy bass guitar playing the background (always hits the spot, when played right) ^^

nn listen to rock/metal music, everything i've listened to nowdays is just terrible (screaming vocals) or terrible distorted guitars
only good rock bands are rage against and quarashi ( and thats cos the vocals are excellent, which happens to be rap..)

maybe you n to listen to other music than rock music..... go check youtube for some of those bands and you'll see the strings on a guitar in a different way

On Topic : Guitar primary, but also bass, drums, vocals, limited keys, recorder (shits and grins), and eventually violin when I get it fixed.

Off Topic : Anyone who thinks metal or rock all sounds the same has obviously never heard Michael Angelo Batio (or is incredibly jealous and as such has since thrown their guitar away) Hands Without Shadows, anyone?
