douchey? Did you even read my first post in his thread, or are you just making shit up like they are?

So in addition to kids trying to save face, we have randoms trying to act innocent

that's cute

I just don't know why you bother with trying to defend which topics should and should not be posted here. Ultimately, it's irrelevant. The only reason they have for not posting here are these: more relevant interest in other forums and mods could close them. Where do you come in in those scenarios?

Anyone already saw that? I find it pretty interesting to say the least; you could play a bass line along with guitar riffs. Of course you only have 3 bass strings, but still.
What do you guys think?

That looks amazing :) I thought 8 was the most you could get!!! This is the only guy I've ever seen use one all the time, but it would be good to see a 9 string master!

And the award for best dressed 8 string guitarist goes to:

That was a joke. Plus this forum really isn't for musicians to chat about music related things anymore, if it was I wouldn't be making this... If I was to say anything about some musical related news I would get into an argument now for doing so.

I'm not going to be around forever, if very much longer at all as I always take big breaks from my computer for no apparent reason. This was an attempt at actually getting a small community back here like there once was :)

Well, to be honest I'm not extremely uptight kind of person who would yell "WRONG FORUM" if I see an irrelevant topic (if I'm in a bad mood that day I might flame someone for posting in the wrong topic but that doesn't mean I think it's a big deal o.O), but if you want to get technical about what this forum is about, the "About This Forum" thread makes it very clear (:

i dont know anyone that died of aids or cancer recently but my banjo strings are 2 years old and i wouldnt change them for anything (clawhammer style). my mandolin strings get changed at least once per two months, sometimes once per month (so dont call me lazy, its all about tone).

Sounds pretty disgusting in honesty, but some of my favourite guitarists don't believe in cleaning their instruments so w/e ^_^

By continually posting off-topic responses in this manner all you're doing is letting everyone know your birth certificate is an apology from the condom factory..

HOLYROFLOL!!!! Epic 10/10 pwnage lol

i prefer stretched out steel strings (start with daddario heavy). clawhammer isnt the kind of picking where you use fingerpicks like on deliverance. its more of a flowing appalachian hillbilly approach (still very hard to master). everytime ive changed strings on my other banjo (the bluegrass banjo) i try clawhammer on it and im all "ewww". i do clean them with a paper towel or sometimes steel wool.

I'm right there with you brothah! Sitting here with D'Addario heavy's on my acoustic that I haven't changed for a few months. Now usually I change every 2 weeks or so, but I've been very busy, and I can't be buying new strings every two weeks. I hate the sound I get in the first week and a half, finally for like 2 days they sound amazing to me, then after that they become extremely dead. But D'Addario heavys that are dead still sound much better than every other brand, in my experience.
