i hold the pick more lightly and slant my wrist to point the pick downward or upward in the same direction i am sweeping, so it makes it easier to glide across the strings, try slanting your wrist to the left or right as well, for less resistance from the strings.

just to try experiment with how you hold the pick, and make sure to practice switching between regular playing and sweeping so you can make the transition smoothly

edit: when you get to the top of the sweep, instead of hammer-pull-off you can alternate pick the two highest notes, that will help being able to transition.

ive been trying that a while now.
ummm i hold my pick normally with a uhh "proper grip" and a fist...

dont tighten your hand in a fist that creates extra un-needed tention in your hand and forearm. There should only be pressure between the two fingers you use to hold the pick. Also heavier picks make it easier to play fast. I use at 2mm

i was just gonna ask about that... i used a 3 mm for about 6 months... i changed to a 1.5-2 mm now...
i thought it would be easier to sweeep if i used a like .88 mm...
so i guess the heavier the pick the faster/easier it is?

if the pick bends you must exert more force for it to pick the string, if it does not bend then you dont exert as much force.
