Someone else suggested a "folk" guitar which i am guessing they mean acoustic, they are good to learn on also because harder to push strings down so trains fingers and also you dont hear mistakes as much as on electric which is amped up and its very blatant when you make a mistake, so they aren't a bad idea for a starting guitarist.
