the only scales i know is the uhh A minor Pentyatonic scale and the uhh

578
578
579
579
6810
7810

ya that one

just go to that site suggested, and select A minor. Then just play random notes in the A minor pentatonic. See what cool melodies you can create! It's improvisation, and every1 can do it! =) Just try!

I wanna play technical difficulties by paul gilbert....
sick asss song but im simply not fast enough
any of u guys know of anything that will build my speed?
ive been playing scales over and over and still im not fastr

Work with a fucking metronome. Only way to build proper speed. Speed is nothing if it's played inaccurately. USE A METRONOME, there's no hidden secret.

I have near flawless timing , great speed ( while playing cleanly )... and yet I hate using a metronome.. and rarely use one.

There are other ways. No need to be quite as hostile.

Edit:

Note for OP: In no way do I discourage the use of a metronome. If it helps YOU... more power to you.

First you should not try to get the speed but the tone , make every notes sound clear.

i would recommand you X exercices pretty boring, suggest you do this while watching Tv.

also you should pratice string skipping ( would be useful in Racer X songs )

key word is SLOW put the metronome at 60 bpm on GP pratice it , once it sounds clear , increase tempo

its long, painful , but succesful

You can't develop timing without a metronome. I'm skeptical.
Just about every time someone tells me he's good, he sucks balls. So yeah, I'd like to see a vid :P

That's not true.
Some people are born with flawless timing, born with perfect pitch, etc. The majority of people, however, will definitely need a metronome and years of practice to develop perfect timing. 99% of people should use a metronome, therefore I believe the OP should definitely use a metronome.

I know there are always exceptions. But the rule still stands. I'm not gonna say, maybe you can do it without a metronome because there's 1/10000 chances you are a virtuoso.

Never did I come close to calling myself a 'virtuoso' , however... Timing/rhythm has always come easy to me. The only instance in which I've ever found a metronome useful is when practicing scales, and not always than either.

Tapping my foot to the old 4/4 and playing 1 to 2 notes a tap works just as well for me.

Read what this guy was asking. When wants to play Paul Gilbert licks. If you can do those 100% without a metronome, you're out of this world.
