Tis weird - but Telecaster has "old" strings on it, and it physically hurts to play. Perhaps it's down to playing my nicely restrung gibson or mustang, but the other strings are rusty lol - hurts to play!
Well, when i first picked up the guitar from my moms place, the strings had some goo between the wounds, which increased the friction on fingers really much. But after i cleaned the strings, they felt silky smooth and not nearly as much friction on them.
Have you tried cleaning the string on your tele to see if the friction decreases? Or did the strings on your tele happen to be coated strings and the coating had just weared off?
