out of curiosity, what style are you learning? classical, popular, fiddle? im big on appalachian fiddle stuff.

I'm interesting in all genres.

I'm particularly interested in irish and celtic fiddle.

but i plan on learning classical, modern, fiddle and covers of songs as well as putting it in my trance music.

I will be practicing 1 hour a day for a minimum of 5-6 days a week, 1 half hour lesson a week.

That's a good start!

That's just practice, for scales, dexterity. That is excluding recreational use for fun. (Once i learn how to play will be about 5 hours a week if not more)

I recently inherited a violin. It is an excellent violin that my great grandfather used to use in Germany. This thing is at least 150 years old and the ring and wood and everything are just phenomonal sounding. Went to a music store and they esimated the price around $2300 :P

I have no doubt it exceeds that price though. But I won't ever sell this thing.
