The Martin Lowend Series are not best in that pricerange. If you are looking for store-price of 500 bucks, you will anyway pay for the name.
You never played before? Buy something you can take with you anywhere ... the fender CD-Series is really cheap, but sounds okay.
You won´t be angry with some scratches on it
