I own a LTD made by Esp and out of 7 guitars included many that are 1500$+ I play the Esp LTD the most.. You can't beat it.. I paid around 700 for it and it has active pickups and a really silky smooth gloss finish with a flametop blue paint scheme , o and its neckthrough.. I have a Jackson soloist that is basically same pickup arrangement and neckthourgh that I bought new for about 1100 so no I don't think there's a guitar for the money that beats a LTD.
