I still think you vastly underestimate how loud a 40w tube amp can be. I promise it will be louder than you ever need it to be.

Maybe if you play normal rock alone or so, but if playing metal with a drummer who hits the fucking drums with all his power and the singer has 2 mega amps, you need more than 40 W, I'm sure

If you're playing shows, your amp will be mic'd and run through a PA. If you're practicing, 40 watts should be enough to play over drums.

Ofc if playing shows it will be mic'd, but no 40W isn't enough + the higher it gets the heavier the sound gets too

wrong. Save up and get the 6505+ 1x12 combo. Its 60 watt it will be louder than you will ever need.

By the way, you do understand that wattage does not equal volume. A 100 watt amp is only twice as loud as a 10 watt amp. Also perceived volume also depends on your cabinet/speakers. Having 4 speakers pushing air will be louder than 1 speaker, so no matter what a 4x12 will be louder than a 2x12. Both being the same wattage. The truth is you dont need more than 60 watts. They make that wattage not because people need the power. It exists for what is called headroom, the amount you can turn the volume up to before the power tubes being to distort. For metal you DONT want power tube distortion because it is very loose and flabby. You want pre-amp distortion. That is the pre-amp tubes being pushed to distort and then the power amp tubes (without any distortion) will amplify an already distorted signal. This gives the very tight sounding metal tone.

I hope this helps you understand the meaning of the wattage.

i think you're just stuck on the wattage of a solidstate amp right now. i've jammed extensively with a 5 watt epiphone valve junior head and a 4x12 cabinet, and while its not very good tone, it can get loud man. i cut through everyone else using solid state or transtube amps without a problem. a 40 watt pure tube combo would be more than enough for you to play metal with some friends.

I have a 30 watt Peavey Classic 30 (tube) and it's way more than enough to play metal in practice and at shows.

Seriously, I've never played with it past 5, and I'm only that loud at practice when the drummer is playing full-gear and not using pads to dampen the drums.

Hey lol'd cause you put "metal / death metal" and then put Lamb of God and Slipknot... Just ignore him he's just being a fag.

You could be the best musician in the world and play deathcore/metalcore and write the best music but
just cause you have "core" after metal in the genre you play people will laugh at you. I'll never get it.

its because the -core style is laughable.

it's the genre's fault and the genre's limitations not the musicians.
