Now whats a simple setup to try that has some bone crushing Death metal sound but still keep some nice tone?

Lookin at 600-1000$ price range now but wanna get something thats a good bang for the buck.

My guitarist uses a B-52 AT-100. It's plenty loud and the sound is versatile. If you go to a guitar center there's usually one on display, and you can bargain with the people there. My guitarist got his brand new for 600 out the door, head and matching slanted cab.
