I'm currently taking lessons and I love them. Although the lessons are just teaching me to read music, I have found them extremely helpful, as I can now put the songs I wrote in guitar tab in rhythm, so I can remember how to play them later. tongue.gif

Thank you everyone for inputs.
I play a gig on Sunday December 14, 2008 in Toronto with some of my teacher's other students.
We are playing Rebel Without a Cause and I have the main part and the out solo.
Today, we just continued with the song and I've learned almost the whole thing.
Just working on speed now.
This is my 18th lesson.

From a teacher, you only need to learn proper technique and how to read music. this also includes flamenco rythms, proper arm movements when playing scales, ect. if a teacher wants to give you lessons on something else, you're wasting your money. I'm almost done with a BA in music minored in education. I've taught over 60 students. lmk if you ever need help.
