Just got a hold of a Alvarez Yairi DY 85, built in 1976. This is a real gem of an acoustic. Sounds absolutely amazing, and looks beautiful.






Now there are scratches and some imperfections on this guitar, but what do you expect from a 32 year old guitar that was played daily by the original owner. I think it gives it character, although I will definately use a light cut scratch remover, along with a nice waxing with turtle wax xpress to add a nice thick gloss to fill in some of the imperfections, same thing that Taylor does to there guitars before they are shipped out to stores.
