I don't care if he was the "first", as that means nothing. He is a horrible guitarist, and "melodic" is the most unquantifiable description of someone's guitar playing. The fact is he can't play in time, bend, perform vibrato, or create anything remotely musical. He needs to learn when to turn off his fucking wah too.

ps; The black album is the most successful metallica album btw. So learn your shit.
