So, i've got a pretty decent hang of it by now. My only issue is playing two different things with your hands, I find it to be super difficult. Any proffesional tips out there? :]

Learn to play different rythm with the hands.

Both starts from key C4. Right-hand goes 1/4 up.
Meanwhile left-hand goes down 2/4 down.

Increase maybe 1/8 vs 1/3 etc advance

practise slowly both hands seperately, once you know them well enough ( fluently), play them together very slowly repeating a lot until it becomes fluent and "natural", and ofc it's hard to do that and it takes time and effort and brain masturbation :p

Almost have forgotten what kind of process I had to go through to learn playing with both hands... Wow, 14 years ago...
Now it just feels so natural. Hope you get into it somehow!

Else, try this, pretty basic, valse bass C E/G E/G (repeat!) and do a C major scale.

Do the valse bass by 1/4 meanwhile the 1/8 in this way you learn gaining the finger technic in the right-hand.
When you have gotten better try 1/8 on the bass and 1/16 on the right-hand.

Hope you fix it good night.

I'll steal the topic from my young guildie

drummer here, I wanna learn to play the keyboard because i've never ever composed melody in my life and it hurts
no chance to get lessons, my drumming lessons are already expensive enough

question: is a midi keyboard a good way to start? my budget is around 150-200$ at best, as this will be a side-hobby for me.
if yeah, does anyone have a suggestion on which one to buy?

lulli sorry for stealing, I'll skype you everyday and we'll play duets

doesn't really matter what kind of MIDI-keyboard you buy, as long as you buy one who has the same touch and feeling as a "acoustic" one.
since as beginners, i believe its very important for them to get used to how real keys touch's are, so they don't punching hitting them.

i use roland gp-5 keyboard, which i use for production. and since i use it more than my main one, ive recognized myself that i am loosing abit of the touch when i goes from it to the other one even though they're quite close to each other.

I guess that since my budget is low, no matter what I buy, the feeling won't be really close to an "acoustic" one, right?

I was leaning towards Korg mircoKEY 61
