thank you folks :)

now im looking for really funky, groovy, bass lines that don't need a drum track. I'm looking for something i will just automatically rock my head to while playing :)

Using 3 finger, maiden's song aren't that hard. Now try to learn them the way Steve was playing them and you'll see it's another story ;) (using 2 fingers only)

Metallica have a couple of really easy songs and other more challenging. Even if i don't really like their music, it's a really great start when you first learn bass.

If you want more groovy/funky bass lines, i assume you would like some walking paterns and then add your own style to the melody.
You should then check some basics from Victor wooten (ex. : Overjoyed) or some easier songs to get to it like :

- Autumn leaves
- All the things you are (hammerstein/kern)
