Thank you guys. So after some feedback from here and other forums. I did end up buying a squier: http://www.guitarcenter.com/Squier-Deryck-Whibley-Telecaster-Electric-Guitar-519757-i1275952.gc

And then literally 2 days after that came in the mail I won this ESP in a contest: http://www.guitarcenter.com/In-Store-Used-USED-LTD-ESP-KH202-KIRK-HAMMETT-BLK-ELEC-GUITAR-107384926-i2372632.gc?&source=4WWRWXGB (New) - Should come in a week or so :)

And for the amp I ordered a Peavey VYPR30 - Probably a little louder than I need but a lot of people and friends that play seemed to favor that one, and it's not a huge leap in price.

Gratz on the esp, I'm a huge fan of ESP and Schecter, both of them are really good metal guitars. I suggest you look into the active EMG 81-85's (zac wild) or the (kerry kings) both are really good, lots of treble for good pinch harmonics :)

Thanks :) I'm pretty stoked about that ESP.

So since I have 2 guitars meow I have a friend who's learning with me, playing a couple of times a week, and I went and bought another amp. Just a little 20W Fender Mustang for 80$ (I <3 Discounts) - This thing is absolutely amazing for the price. Plus the software that comes with it is great as well. Tons of different effects / amp controls right on my laptop screen. I would recommend this thing to anybody just beginning or who needs a nice modeling amp. I love it.
