Have him send you a couple close-ups of the crack in question. Finish cracks aren't a big deal but if it's through the top, you don't want that guitar. You will never be able to turn around and sell it; they are virtually worthless with a structural crack - especially on the top.
ty this is good info, ive seen many sell on eebay tho so i wasnt really sure, i know sometimes they have them epoxied and say it doesnt affect the sound but who knows really,
many times i feel the top is 2 pieces of wood anyway, epseically whent hey split right down the middle from the bridge to the bottom/middle of the guitar, so i can understand how it might not tho
