As of right now just sort of light rock that uses acoustics... once I actually pick it up and am a lot better, I'm going to invest a bit more into an electric so I can start learning more rock.. as of right now I really want to learn Rise Against songs and so on

i made the mistake of going acoustic first. technically it will be better if you stick with acoustic...but a lot of people quit because it's acoustic and the music they want to play isn't that acoustic sound. it's the electric sounds they want. so if you only wanna play "Swing Life Away" go with the acoustic. hehe

basically it comes down to what you want to play and what you enjoy.

but that's just my opinion and imma noob so take it as you will

12 string is no different to an acoustic really, but the sound is incredible. Every extra string sits like 1mm from the normal string, and when you play you just play it too without any sorter change in your playing. Either way - the 12 string post was totally pointless and did not help lol

That would be a perfectly fine first acoustic man. Although if you have a budget near $500 you could buy an Epiphone Masterbuilt acoustic for that, and they are AWESOME, probably the cheapest and best quality all solid wood acoustic (no laminate) on the market at the moment man

dean makes some really nice accoustics, they might be alittle more than u wanna spend, but im sure u could find somethin on craigs list. i dont think its worth buying new stuff, always look to buy used from other people (not pawn shops cuz they sell overpriced junk)
