a stratocaster was made as an upgrade to the telecaster for monetary profit as a "NEW STYLE"so i guess
STRAT>
but i like teles>>>

Had to wonder about this for a min then found this:

Quote
Tele body style came from the snakehead Esquire prototype in 1949. P Bass in 1951, Strat body prototypes in 1953. The Tele came out first, but the Strat became much more copied.

The Tele's lap steel roots are very evident. The Strat was definitely a leap forward.

^_^ Tele ftw

I like it a lot, but it feels weird compared to the Strat. Strings are higher up then the strat. I'll get used to it though.

Can't you just lower the action?

In regards to tele or strat, it's not about which one is best but rather which one is best for your needs or which one you like best. There is no clear winner. It's like comparing apples to oranges.

If you think it is uncomfortable to play (i.e. because of action being to high) then I would recommend a good setup or learn to do it yourself. There is lots of info on the net or in books that can help you learn to setup your own guitars. I recommend anything by Dan Erlewine.

Congrats on the Tele and hopefully you can get it setup and enjoy it

Yeah, I should give it a shot. About the only thing I can do with my guitar is add new strings. :P

I suggest 11's for a bit more tension and low-end.

I can only assume it's playing like a dream :D You learning anything classic to pay respects to the classic design? I learned lots of old school stuff when I first got my Gibson and Fender, just to pay homage to the era they were designed -Next on the agenda is this :

Love playing Jumping Jack Flash with my brother on his bass. Really get's a groove going. Also I Feel Fine by the Beatles is another one that sounds great on it.
