It's not the MUSIC i struggle with. It's writing the lyrics and forming them into a song. I can write a catchy song that has no substance, or I can write a song that feels completely great but I can't seem to find how it goes.

I've written probably 120 songs in 1 week and 5 of them are really good. They came from times when I was emotionally distressed and simply just wrote.

I guess I need advice tapping into those emotions so I can write whenever I want.

Then here's what you do. Buy a condensor mic, point it at your acoustic guitar, use a second mic, sing and play at the same time and record it all at once.. Single jam, single track, song done, the feeling is all there and it's just random shit you threw together. IMPROVISE.

Been writing for about 3 weeks now. I have 150 songs that I didn't throw out and about 40 of them I actually recorded. Once I work more at it and everything I'll post results but I'm still working out a lot of stuff and fine tuning the lyrics.

Learning songwriting the same way I learned piano/guitar. Practice :p

Got about 200 songs now. A lot of the ones I wrote initially that I didn't like I re-read them and they're actually pretty good.

Just have to keep writing I guess. :)

Imo just try to hear it in your head
how you hear it starting, how the voices sound, etc
