Here's a little test.

Go to a music store and take the Squire Affinity Series Strat and plug it into a Fender Deluxe Amp.

Then take an American Special or Standard guitar and plug it into a Frontman 15R Amplifier. Now you decide which sounds better. The cheap guitar, through the expensive amp, or the expensive guitar through the cheap amp.

It's usually a 10/10 pick the same option but I won't say which. You should do this though before you buy for sure.
