Besides the fact that it obviously caters to whiny teens. It's funny that it's called "emo" short for emotional, but it's actually just for money.

The thing is...they aren't the greatest guitarists, they're mediocre shredders. I don't have a problem with existing, and I don't intend to discount their music, but when people are jerking it off into their mouths like it's something impressive or remotely accomplished is a different story.

As for emo...I don't think you're in any place to discount the genre as a whole, there's good stuff in there.
