That's a very narrow-minded point of view. People write about experiences in their lives that meant something to them. Yes, rap included. Simply stating that lyrics are meaningless does not make them so. I personally think singing about a god that does not exist is stupid, but I don't consider your songs meaningless/pointless. Even if I don't believe in the lyrics, I know you do, and they have meaning to you. So they obviously cannot be truly meaningless. You obviously have a distorted view of rap music though. Name one rap song that features explicitly simple lyrics like that. Some rap songs may have similar messages, but there is a poetic nature to it. Why do you consider this meaningless? Music has the power to influence. The main idea behind rap music (actually, all music) is empowerment of the individual, which is the purpose of most forms of entertainment in our society.

there are good rap artists that actually work on achieving a good lyric rythm and i respect that kind of rap, but i dont listen to it
some rap songs are just retarded, you have to admit
i think i may have come off too harsh on that guy up there lol
because i realize his lyrics have alot more hidden purpose than an eye can see
